- Does your partner often complain that you aren’t listening?
- Do your kids ask you to turn down the TV?
- Do you have trouble hearing your grandchildren’s voices or other higher frequencies – especially in loud environments?

4 steps to vastly improved hearing
Even mild hearing loss causes increased listening effort, making conversations less enjoyable and social situations much more frustrating. The greater the degree of hearing loss, the more difficult everyday life becomes. Annoyance, aggravation and even anger are common symptoms of undiagnosed hearing loss – not just in you, but also in spouses, families, colleagues and friends.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Here’s here’s how our process typically works:
1. Start by getting answers
Four out of five people who have hearing loss don’t even know it. If you think you might be one of them, you need to ask some questions and get some answers. Because you’re reading this, you’ve obviously taken that crucial first step. We also encourage you to stop by our hearing clinic or call 250.914.3200 to get answers to more specific questions. We promise we’ll listen (we’ve got really good hearing!), and we won’t try to sell you anything.
2. Get a hearing assessment
A hearing assessment is the best way to find out the truth about your hearing. It only takes about 15 minutes for a quick screening or an hour for a full comprehensive test. It doesn’t hurt and, if you behave yourself, we may even give you a candy when it’s done. Part of your hearing assessment is a lifestyle evaluation. Just as there are many things that contribute to hearing loss, there are many factors to consider when finding the right solution. We’ll ask you about any problems you’re experiencing, your health and work history, how you spend your free time and what sort of activities you do. Only then can we help find a solution that matches your lifestyle and needs.
3. Have a demo fitting and trial
If your free hearing assessment suggests that hearing aids could help improve your lifestyle and you are interested, we offer demo fittings of various hearing aids suited to your particular needs. When and if you’re ready to order a hearing device, you’ll get a 90-day, no-obligation trial period to determine if it’s working for you.
4. Take advantage of unlimited follow-ups
As a client of 100 Mile House Hearing Clinic, you’re entitled to unlimited follow-up visits to ensure you’re always hearing as well as you should be. If there’s ever anything you’re not completely satisfied with about your hearing aids, bring them in and we’ll adjust them at no extra cost. Fitting you with your hearing device is only part of our job – the other part is making sure your hearing aids are always working as hard as they should be. There’s always a transition period as you grow accustomed to your new life with improved hearing. We’ll work with you as often as you need during this “rehabilitation time,” while you get used to living with all the brilliant sounds you’d been missing.
Common questions about hearing loss:
How long will it take to get my hearing aids?
Depending on the type (e.g., in the canal, in the ear, behind the ear, etc.), the answer can be anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. If an impression of your ear canal is needed, a custom order takes about 10 business days.
How much do hearing aids cost?
Again, there’s a range, depending on which type you need. Hearing aids start at about $3,500 per pair and go up to about $6,500/pair. In some circumstances only one hearing aid is necessary, so those prices will be lower. Payment plans are available.
Are all hearing aids visible?
Depending on the degree of your hearing loss, hearing aids can be very discrete. Typically, the more significant the hearing loss the larger the devices. Many of today’s in-ear hearing aids, however, are barely detectable.
